The following pictures could be used in a number of ways. Maybe you would like to play patriotic time appropriate music while showing a slideshow. Maybe you would like to print out individual pictures of relics and people to give your students an opportunity to feel the time period's events, moods, and lifestyle. Maybe your students could analyze some of the pictures to synthesize questions about an event, debate an issue, or compare today's world to that of 150 years ago. Whatever you choose to do, hopefully these pictures will serve as an excellent primary source to get the reels in your students' minds turning.
