Assignment 1 (due Dec. 3): Read Worlds of  History, chapter 3. What does Hammurabi's Code Reveal about the nature of ancient Mesopotamian civilization?

Assignment 2 (due Dec. 4): Read Worlds of History, chapter 6, Readings 32-33, handouts. Discuss Egyptian and Mesopotamian influences on the development of Hebrew monotheism.

Assignment 3 (due Dec. 5): Read Worlds of  History, chapter 4, readings 18, 19, 20. What do these documents reveal about the Greek worldview?

Assignment 4 (due Dec. 9): Read Worlds of  History, chapter 4, readings 14-17, 28-31. Compare and contrast Buddhism and Hinduism.

Assignment 5 (due Dec. 10): Read Worlds of History, chapter 14. Discuss the impact of the Spanish conquest on pre-Columbian civilizations.

Assignment 6. (due Dec. 11): Read Worlds of History, chapter 8, readings 47-49. Outline the principal teachings of Islam.
