PRIORITY REGISTRTATION FOR SSS STUDENTS

Students who are active participants in the SSS program are eligible for priority registration each quarter. This ensures that you have access to the widest possible selection of classes to build a convenient schedule and stay on track as you progress toward graduation.

Advising

Student advising is one of the most critical factors in ensuring success in college. Advising isn’t just about selecting courses for registration. It’s also about helping you make good decisions about your education and relating what you do at DePaul to your wider personal, educational and career goals. Your SSS advisor will therefore will therefore work with you to:

• Develop a plan for your education at DePaul
• Select courses for registration
• Clarify your career interests and objectives
• Identify strategies and resources to help finance your education

You will be assigned to the SSS advisor on admission to the program. The expectation is that you will meet with your advisor at least once a quarter to plan your coursework, review your progress and refine your longer-term educational and career goals. However, please note that advising within the SSS program supplements rather than replaces advising within your home school or college at DePaul. It is important that you stay in regular contact with your college academic advisor to ensure that you are meeting all program and graduation requirements.
