SOC 342
Organizational Dynamics

Organizations are one of the most pervasive and influential forms of social life in the modern world. The accomplishment of our professional and economic goals as individuals depends on our capacity to understand and manipulate organizations and their members. The present course is designed to provide a general understanding of the organization covering three different issues:

  • The general environment that both supports and jeopardizes the survival and economic success of organizations.
  • The internal aspects that allow integration and cooperation within the organization for the accomplishment of goals.
  • The forces that may interfere with the proper functioning of organJuly 16, 2008erests of individuals and organizations.

Although this class does not belong to any particular concentration it is a good complement for any area, since issues of health, justice, culture production, discrimination, etc. overwhelmingly take place within organizations.
