Title: "Skew Polynomials in Computer Algebra"
Abstract: It is well-known that studying skew polynomials is one of most
active research areas in noncommutative ring theory. In the past
10 years, skew polynomials are playing an increasingly important
role in solving systems of differential and difference equations
symbolically, in control theory, cryptography, etc. It has already
become one of most active research areas in computer algebra. In
this talk, we first outline some results of skew polynomials in
computer algebra, and then we introduce our recent work on
factoring and irreducibility of skew polynomials, which are joint
work with Bergen, Churchill and Giebrecht.
