Over the quarter, you will dress a set for the opening scene of a well-known play. You
can choose one of four plays, and you will model, stage, set the camera and lights, and
create appropriate and compelling textures for the objects in the scene.
Your set should set the mood for the type of people who have lived there,
the kinds of actions that have taken place or will take place. The objects
and textures in the room should reflect the style, period and history
appropriate for the room.
Your set should be well composed with attention to basic design principles,
and should effectively express the mood of the scene and, if applicable,
hint at the action which is about to take place. This project will focus on
your ability to "set the mood" using texture and lighting.
You are free to use available objects that you find on the web. Just be
sure to mention where you found them in your production notes.
Texturing and lighting must be via Renderman (Pixie or 3Delight) using any of the sample shaders
or shaders that we've developed in class, or you may build your own.
No post processing other than simple compositing.
