The Pilates method of body conditioning is a unique system of stretching and strengthening exercises. This class is designed to tone muscles, improve posture, increase flexibility, improve balance and unite the body and mind. Martial Arts

Capoeira
Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian movement that combines dance, acrobatics, music, and self-defense. Developed by African slaves that were brought to Brazil, capoeira not only builds physical strength and endurance, but it is learned in a non-competitive, community environment as well. Capoeira classes begin with various stretches, warm up cardio workouts, and strength training such as push-ups and sit-ups. The movements are then broken down and taught to the students. Every class ends with “roda” or the circle where capoeira is “played.” This is where students combine and incorporate the techniques they learn in class with one another. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Matthew Hill

MA013 Capoeira: Mon./Fri. 7:30-9:00 p.m. Studio D,
11/29-12/27 (no class 12/24), 8 sessions, Member: $50.00 Non-Member: $65.00
