Babysitting

Babysitting Service Policies
The babysitting service is available as a drop-in service on a first come first serve basis 9 am -12 noon, Monday through Saturday. The babysitting service is available to children of mixed ages. Children are supervised in mixed-aged groups and may socialize with children of various ages and levels of development. One babysitter may supervise no more than 5 children who are 14 months or older. One babysitter may supervise no more than 4 children when one child present is less than 14 months old. While the babysitting services are offered 3 hours a day Monday through Saturday, the duration of the child’s stay should be limited to an appropriate time for the individual child.

  • Parents/guardians are required to complete a registration form and purchase a babysitting pass prior to using the babysitting service.
  • Children participating in this service must be at least 3 months of age.
  • For the well being of all children using the babysitting service, sick children are not permitted to attend babysitting.
  • Parents/guardians must sign in with the babysitter, record the current date, time, name of child, age of child, and parents’ anticipated location in the facility.
  • No other person may pick up the child except for the parent who signed in the child. When picking up the child, the parent must sign out with the babysitter.
  • The parent/guardian who signed in the child must remain in the facility at all times.
  • Babysitting hours are Monday-Saturday, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Children must be picked up before noon. If a child has not been picked up by noon the parent/guardian will be paged.
  • The babysitter may have a staff member contact the parent at any time regarding the status of his or her child. For example, the parent may be contacted if the child is inconsolable, if the child is displaying inappropriate behavior or if the child seems to be ill.
  • Children whose behavior is unruly, negatively affects other children, or threatens the safety of the group may be asked to leave. Parents will be contacted to remove their child. If unacceptable behavior is chronic, the child may lose eligibility to participate in the babysitting service.
  • Children should arrive at babysitting prepared for their visit as food is not permitted. Drinks in plastic cups labeled with the child’s name are allowed. Children should not eat while in babysitting and the length of their stay should not require a diaper change. Parents will be contacted to change their children.
  • The parent will always be contacted in an emergency situation.
  • Babysitters are not responsible for administering medication.
  • Babysitters are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items.
  • If an evacuation of the facility were necessary during babysitting hours, please report directly to the babysitting studio and evacuate per the babysitters direction.
  • Parents who need to bring their children to the locker room are encouraged to use the family locker room for their own convenience. Daily locker keys for the family locker room are available at the equipment issue desk. See general policies for children using the facility below.
  • Parents must purchase one of three hourly passes in advance from the Membership Office. Children from the same family may share a pass.
  • Time will be deducted from the passes in increments of 30 minutes. The time begins when the parent leaves the studio and ends when the parent picks up the child.
