LOCAL WEBSITES

Access library catalog, subscription databases, and selected internet sites
User convenience (esp. for off-site use)
Often-used sites compare to frequently used print sources such as the
New Grove; "remember" & keep them handy through bookmarks or links on
       your web page
Advantage: Built with local population in mind
Integrate internet sites into research guides citing a variety of sources
Integrate fully cataloged, librarian-selected sites into library catalog
Disadvantage: Time-intensive to maintain, hard to anticipate all patrons'
needs; automatic link checkers not totally accurate
