Office of Senator Richard J. Durbin (Chicago)
The office of the United States Senator Richard Durbin offers an internship program to undergraduate and graduate students of all majors who are interested in experiencing the day-to-day operations of a Senator’s office. The Senator’s Illinois offices assist constituents in matters dealing with federal services and provide outreach to constituent interest groups on behalf of the Senator. The main focus of the district office is to serve Senator Durbin’s constituents and to build relationships with communities, organizations and individuals.
Applicants should send a completed internship application form (available on our website: www.durbin.senate.gov), their resume and a cover letter explaining why they would like to intern in Senator Durbin’s office to the intern coordinator. Any questions regarding the application process or the program should be directed to Senator Durbin’s Internship Program Coordinator at 312.353.4952. Our office encourages students to send their materials as early as possible as positions fill quickly.

2008 Fall and Winter Internships
The Chicago Council on Global Affairs offers juniors and seniors the chance to learn about our organization and participate in a variety of duties associated with ongoing projects through internships.While intern responsibilities vary, tasks may include researching prospective speakers, writing communications, assisting in the development of marketing/program materials, audience and outreach development, administrative duties (filing, faxing, data entry, preparing mailings, assembling program/meeting materials), assisting at Council events, and other projects as assigned.
