Graduate Admissions

The School of Nursing currently offers the following Masters of Science (MS) degrees to prospective students:

Master's Entry into Nursing (MS Degree)
For Non-Nurses

Admissions Requirements:

• Graduate Application
• BS or BA degree from a regionally accredited institution
• GPA of 3.0/4.0 (baccalaureate OR graduate cumulative)
• GRE Examination with:
  • Verbal Score:  500
  • Quantative Score:  500
  • Analytical Writing: 4.0
• 1 year of biology
• 1 year of chemistry (organic and inorganic)
• Graduate information sheet or Goal statement (1 - 2 pages)

Advanced Practice (MS Degree)
All programs except Nurse Anesthesia

Admissions Requirements:

• Graduate Application
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from NLN Accredited program or equivalent
• GPA of 3.0/4.0 (baccalaureate OR graduate cumulative)
• GRE Examination with:
  • Verbal Score:  500
  • Quantative Score:  500
  • Analytical Writing: 4.0
• Basic statistics course
• Physical Assessment course
• Current licensure as a registered professional nurse
• 1 year of chemistry (organic and inorganic) taken with the last 10 years
• Graduate information sheet or Goal statement (1 - 2 pages)

Advanced Practice (MS Degree)
Nurse Anesthesia in conjunction with
The Evanston-Northwestern School of Anesthesia

Admissions Requirements:

• Graduate Application
• Evanston-Northwestern Admission Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from NLN Accredited program or equivalent
• GPA of 3.0/4.0 (baccalaureate OR graduate cumulative)
• GRE Examination with:
  • Verbal Score:  500
  • Quantative Score:  500
  • Analytical Writing: 4.0
• Basic statistics course
• Physical Assessment course
• Current licensure as a registered professional nurse
• 1 year of chemistry (organic and inorganic) taken with the last 10 years
• A minimum of 1 year employment in ICU
