MSW Program Mission Statement

The DePaul University MSW Degree Program has been created with the goal of extending the University’s sacred mission of service to the Chicago urban community. The DePaul University MSW Degree Program offers high-quality, professional education in community practice and endeavors to meet the educational needs of working professionals and those dedicated to social and economic justice. The DePaul University MSW Degree Program is designed to foster excellence in practice, scholarship, and leadership.

The MSW Program’s purpose is further stated in its operational mission statements:

  1. The DePaul University MSW Degree Program will train ethical and competent leaders in the social work profession.

  2. The DePaul University MSW Degree Program will model and prepare students to work collaboratively in partnership with individuals, organizations, and communities working towards mutually-defined goals.
