PHIL 250: PHILOSOPHY AND SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT (an experiential learning course)
I will offer PHL250: Philosophy and Social Encounter--an experiential learning course for juniors, with a required 25 hours of community service. A preliminary syllabus is here.
PHL 204: PHILOSOPHY & EXISTENTIAL THEMES (SUMMER 2002), see the syllabus.PHL387: PHILOSOPHIES OF ASIA: SYLLABUS. I offered this course in winter 2001. It might be offered again in winter 2004, possibly as INDIAN PHILOSOPHIES. The course primarily reads Indian Hindu and Buddhist metaphysical texts, with some work on ethics by contemporary activist Buddhists.
