Math Club elections

Candidates:

President:            Kate Hubbard

                            I have been a member of Math Club for the past two years and was on the Executive Board the past year as Treasurer.  Also, I am a
                            Math major and truly enjoy math.  Math club is a great place for everyone who enjoys math to get together.  As president I will be sure
                            to hold fun, interesting, and informational math club meetings that reach to everyone in advance or elementary level classes.

Vice-president:    Sofia Garcia

                            I would like to run for Vice President of math club. I am a pure math major going into my senior year.  I love math and frequently
                            attend math/math club events on campus.  I have been on DePaul's chapter of Habitat for Humanity's eboard for two years and would
                            like to bring my experiences and dedication to Math club.

                            Most people believe that Math is for NERDS, it is not fun, and it is all about 1+1=2. GUESS WHAT, the study of mathematics is
                            interesting even thought it is a little bit hard. As Vice President, I will encourage students to join math activities in the purpose of
                            fostering a greater understanding of mathematics, and providing a social and intellectual forum to all students interested in
                            experiencing math. In collaboration with the president, I will try to provide the best activities in the club that will enable every student
                            to learn something valuable about Mathematics.  THAT IS WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR ME

Please vote for one candidate for president and one candidate for vice-president by 5 P.M., Thursday, June 7, 2007.

Ways to vote:

Via e-mail: send your vote together with your major and Math classes you are currently enrolled in to ykashina@condor.depaul.edu .

Ballot box at Math Department: put your secret vote in the box and then sign up (write your name, e-mail address, major and Math classes you are currently enrolled in) on the sign-up sheet, so that we can prevent voting twice.

If you were not registered for Math Club before, the information collected when you vote will be used to automatically register you as a Math Club member.
