The largest and most diverse college at DePaul University, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences graduate school offers an exciting array of scholarly and professional programs. The two departments offering doctoral degrees, psychology and philosophy, are nationally recognized, while many of the master’s programs have earned distinguished reputations in the Chicago area for the unique niche that they fill.

The college offers master’s degrees and certificates through more than twenty departments and programs in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. These programs provide students with opportunities for advanced scholarly study and research, preparation for a specific career or profession, and personal enrichment. Graduate students in LAS have the opportunity to develop a broad and deep knowledge of their chosen discipline, practice the research methodology of the discipline, and acquire those competencies necessary for their personal advancement in scholarly, professional, or creative careers.
The majority of courses are held in the evenings and on weekends, primarily on the Lincoln Park Campus, with some programs based on the Loop Campus. All but the doctoral programs, which hold day classes, are designed to be pursued by working adults.
