Lab Information for Extranet 581 - 01/29/00

We have successfully set up and got going Net.Commerce installations on most of the machines.
General info to know: 1st: logins & passwords in the lab: You must log out the previous user, and then log in as: ect581/ect581,, with the domain being the workstation local domain for this class.
Next, you must shut down the IIS Web server if it is running, which it should not be.
At this point, if everything is working right you can do: Start/Programs/IBM Net.Commerce/Net.Commerce Configuration. This will launch the secure browser window. Do http://ectlab##.cs.depaul.edu:4444 where ## is the number of your lab machine. If you are prompted for a login ID & password it is webadmin/webibm at this point.
You can now do 1st a Stop, and a Start of your instance (if it is not running). At this point everything should be running for sure.
To verify the regular webserver is running, type in "http://localhost" or "http://ectlab##.cs.depaul.edu" where ## is the workstation number. You should get back the Lotus Go Webserver home page.
So far, so good.
Now launch the Net.Commerce administrator: "http://ectlab##cs.depaul.edu/ncadmin". Login/password is ncadmin/ncadmin. If you change this, email me the new ones. (Big security breach publishing this to the world, huh!? But if they get changed we can go in and fix later)
Now, use the Store Creator to create a store. Create a couple of different stores. Note that if you create the B2B store, when you go to access the store ("http://ectlab##.cs.depaul.edu/mystorenamehere") that it will see you as the office manager. Go to a separate box and point your Web browser to the store and register. Then back on the 1st box, as office manager, approve the group. Then on the 2nd box, you can now log in and create an order. On the 1st box as office manager you can see order information.
Final points. In the B2C environment, the default credit card value is 10 2's: 2222222222. Also; there is a demonstration mall at: http://ectlab##.cs.depaul.edu/demomall on each machine. Finally, if you leave your machine running you can access it remotely. However, the 1st student to go in from another class that logs you out will shut everything down. I recommend posting notes on the machines requesting no log out, reservered for ECT581. Then everyone can access these machines remotely. For all other machines, log out when done. Otherwise, you run the risk of someone else accidently trashing your work by doing stuff while logged in as you (gee, what's this Net.Commerce stuff, huh? Let's see....CRUNCH!)

Have a good quarter!!!
