Google Wave is a new (invitation-only) collaboration tool. Google Wave combines elements of wikis, instant message, document collaboration and e-mail into a powerful interface that attempts to reinvent e-mail. Google Wave is currently a limited preview – but your colleagues and students may be using the tool already.

In this short presentation:

  • Learn what Google Wave is (and is not)
  • Discover how you could use Google Wave to research, collaborate, and communicate
  • Explore how your students could use Google Wave for projects and research

I still have some spare Google Wave accounts. Commerce faculty and staff can e-mail me, and then I will invite you to join Google Wave.

This session is open to DePaul faculty and staff. You can bring a wireless laptop with you.

RSVP

There is a limit to how many people DPC 7406 can comfortably hold. By RSVP’ing I will know if we need to move to a larger room. You can also tell me what subjects you would like me to cover in future sessions.
