Send an encrypted, signed email to the instructor 1. If you do not have PGP Desktop installed, you can install the free Microsoft Windows version from here: 2. Install the PGP software. The installation should be relatively self explanatory if you've ever installed any software before. It will prompt you to configure an email account. I recommend you use a legitimate one. It will ask you to choose a password. You should really try not to lose this password. It will create a key pair for you. You also do not want to lose these keys. Here are some links that do a pretty good job of describing the installation: 3. Once you've configured the software and setup a key run the PGP software and click on "PGP Keys" and then on "Search for Keys". You should be able to search for my key by typiing in my depaul email address. Add this key to your keyring. 4. If your PGP software was setup to be integrated with your email client, you can click on my key and then click on "Email this Receipient". Your email appication should open up and you can then write me a message that will be encrypted and signed to me. I suggest simply writing the following text: This is , here is my encrypted message for IT 263 If it didn't detect your email client, you should still be able to encrypt and sign a message. This would normally involve you writing your message, then selecting all the text, then using the icon in the toolbar, select the PGP option to encrypt and sign the selected text. Here are some additional links that can help you make all this happen: # end
