As of January 2006 I am now at
Neustar Ultra Services, formerly
UltraDNS, a managed DNS-based service provider. I remain affiliated
with DePaul as both a part-time faculty member and as a collaborator
with colleagues within the School
of Computer Science, Telecommunications and Information Systems.
I am also affiliated with Northwestern Univerity as a visiting fellow
after having left my
role there as Network Engineer. See below for my ongoing research
efforts that are being done with the support of my ongoing affiliation
with DePaul as well as my continuing teaching assignments.

DNS - Open Recursive Name Server Probing
Open Recursive Name Servers have been associated with
a number recent attacks that take advantage of source address spoofing
and the domain name system's capability to provide amplified answers
to small questions. This project tries to identify and characterize
open recursive name servers through the use of a number of different
remote probing techniques.

DNS - higher ed DNS configuration, stability and security monitor
Routing/DNS - DNS Root/TLD prefix announcements
Routing/Security - higher ed distributed route monitor
Security - Deployment of Packet Filter/Mangling on the Internet
Security - Slammer, 4 Years After
Bridging - Spanning Tree Monitor
