The purpose of the DePaul German Club is to acquaint students with the German language and culture and to be consistent and compatible with DePaul Catholic, Urban and Vincentian mission in our activities.
II. Membership
Membership is open to all students at DePaul regardless of major. Membership is comprised completely of currently enrolled DePaul students.
III. Officer Structure, Duties, and Selection
Officer structure and duties are as follows:
a. President
Duties: Contact person; developing and organizing club
projects, events and meetings; settling any disputes which may arise among
members; taking disciplinary actions against members who do not comply
with the rules and regulations of DePaul or the DePaul German Club Constitution
(expulsion of club members from club).
b. Vice President
Duties: Contact person; developing and organizing club
projects, events and meetings.
c. Secretary
Duties: Creating, maintaining, and distributing promotional
literature; maintaining club records; club historian.
d. Treasurer
Duties: Maintaining financial matters of the club.
All officers must maintain a minimum of 2.0 G.P.A. during the academic year. The term of an officer should be one school year, unless otherwise agreed upon.
IV. Meetings
Meetings will be held weekly or bi-weekly with official notice posted of meeting date, time and place.
V. Amendments
This constitution may be amended by a majority vote of the club members.
All members must be aware of the impending change and time of the vote.
Amendments must be ratified by the President. If the President
does not wish to ratify the amendment, he or she must present his argument
to the club members, and after hearing the argument the members may vote
to overturn the President.
