Career Fair

McGaw Lobby & Writing Center
On Friday, May 18, the English Graduate Student Association
and Sigma Tau Delta (the English Honors Society), in
conjunction with the Career Center, are hosting the
"Careers in English/Writing Fair." The purpose
of this fair is to bring DePaul alumni, professionals,
and graduate/undergraduate DePaul students together
to discuss career possibilities for English, Writing,
Communications, and New Media Studies majors and minors.
Event Agenda:
- 6:15-7:30: Alumni Panel
Former MAE, MAW, and NMS students in fields ranging
from teaching to editing/publishing to freelance writing
will speak of their post-DePaul experiences and answer
questions from current students.
- 7:30-8:00: Resume/Strategies Workshop
Representatives from the Career Center will provide
tips for job-seekers and those interested in updating
their resumes and CVs.

Colloquium in English & Writing

Sigma Tau Delta is hosting the first annual Research
Colloquium in English & Writing, a student conference.
Eight students, graduates and undergraduates, will present
the work they have undertaken during the past school
year, research from the fields of language, literature,
and rhetoric and composition.

2007 Induction
Ceremony
The 2007 cohort of Sigma Tau Delta members
at DePaul will be inducted on Tuesday, May 1, 2007,
in the Richardson Library, room 400, beginning at 4:45
pm. Refreshments will be provided.
New and current members of the DePaul
chapter who will continue to be students at DePaul in
2007-08 will be eligible to stand for election as officers
of the society. Those interested should contact advisor
James Murphy at jmurphy5@depaul.edu.
Faculty Conference: Writing
Sigma Tau Delta will be hosting a second panel on Friday,
February 23, featuring writing faculty whose interests
concern rhetoric and composition, as well as creative
writing. Students interested in pursuing an MFA or PhD
are encouraged to attend and voice their questions.

DePaul's chapter of Sigma Tau Delta will
be hosting an English faculty conference on Friday,
January 19th at 6pm, 313a McGaw. Members of the DePaul
English Department will discuss their experiences in
graduate school and in their professional academic careers.
Undergraduates and graduate students interested in pursuing
MAs and PhDs are encouraged to voice their questions
about graduate and professional academic work.

Potluck Poetry Reading

Come out and meet the members of Sigma Tau Delta!
Bring a dish to share and something to read. We'll
be mingling, eating and taking time to hear the work
of our fellow members. This will be a great chance to
unwind before finals, compare academic notes and hear
what everyone has been up to!

of Wisconsin-Eau Claire is hosting a regional conference
to celebrate its golden anniversary. The conference
