Application Instructions
On this website, you can find the letter
from the project director that contains detailed information
about the topic under study; project
requirements and expectations of the participants; the
academic and institutional setting;
and specific provisions for lodging,
subsistence, and extracurricular activities. You can also
request all of this information as a letter, emailed to you,
before you attempt to compete and submit an application. In
either case, all application materials should be sent
to the project director at the address listed below. Sending
application materials to the Endowment will result in delay.
Your completed application should be postmarked
no later than March 2, 2009,
and should be addressed to me:
Eric Murphy Selinger
Project Director: "Saying Something Wonderful
DePaul University
Department of English
802 West Belden Ave.
Chicago, IL 60614
Remember: the most important part of the application is the
essay! It should include any personal and academic information
that is relevant; reasons for applying to this particular
project, including your interest, both intellectual and personal,
in the topic; qualifications to do the work of the project
and make a contribution to it; what you hope to accomplish
by participation; and the relation of the seminar to your
teaching.
As the Roman poet Horace says of poetry itself, this seminar
promises to offer both instruction and delight. I look forward
to reading your application.
Sincerely,
Eric Murphy Selinger
