         Study in Istanbul, Turkey

If you have a sense of wanderlust, a curiosity to explore the history and culture of Istanbul, and a desire to earn graduate credit toward your MAE or MAW degree while spending three exciting weeks in this vibrant Eurasian city, then you should consider DePaul's "Study in Istanbul, Turkey" program, tentatively scheduled to take place from June 17 to July 2, 2007. Istanbul was the center of Byzantine civilization for a millennium as well as the capital of the Ottoman empire for more than 450 years; today it is the cultural and political hub of the modern Turkish republic.

This study trip will be led by Profs. Warren Schultz of the History Department and Gerald Mulderig of the English Department. Both Professors Schultz and Mulderig have traveled in Turkey and have extensive knowledge with the local setting and with all of the sites included on the tour. Students in the MAE and MAW programs can earn credit for up to two courses toward their master's degrees.

You can get a description of the "Study in Istanbul" program by going to DePaul's Study Abroad program site. The Web site lists the trip as an undergraduate program, but with the consent of Professor Mulderig, MAE and MAW students may also participate for degree credit. Please contact Professor Mulderig at (773 325-1788) or at gmulderi@depaul.edu for details.

The deadline application is January 26, 2007.
