SYLLABUS

STATISTICS CONCENTRATION

Students should consult the textbooks used in MAT-456, 528 and 526.  Review homework and tests.

This is a closed-book exam.  It covers basic principles and relationships among regression models, experimental models, and sample survey designs.  Specifically, students are expected to recognize:

1.                  Major regression models:  theory, applications, and diagnostics including software output interpretation.

2.                  Major experimental design models, issues of planning, randomization, modeling, and analysis.  This includes software output interpretation.

3.                  Basic sample survey designs, their relationships, differences and conditions.
