Description:
The Instructional Application Developer facilitates the integration
of academic technology into the curriculum of the various schools and colleges
by working with faculty who are interested in developing applications to
support their courses. The Instructional Application Developer is an integral
member of a work team that monitors instructional technology trends and
research in instructional technology, provides technological and pedagogical
support, and designs and implements software and development research projects.

65% Development and/or integration of instructional software.
10% Project management and documentation
15% R&D on new products and technologies
5% Systems support and installation
5% Plan and assist with faculty workshops/conferences
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, masters preferred in Instructional Technology,
Computer Science, Cognitive Science or Cognitive Psychology, or related
discipline. Four or more years experience in academic computing environments.
Two or more years in instructional design or educational technology development.
Substantial previous teaching or training experience at the college level.
Skills:
Advanced Windows and Macintosh environments
Advanced 2 Authoring Systems (e.g., Toolbook, Authorware, MacroMind Director,
etc.)
Advanced Oral and written communication
Advanced Ability to learn quickly from trade/technical books
Intermediate Project management and team building
Intermediate C/C++
Intermediate Visual Basic
Novice CGI, Perl, and Java
Novice SPSS, SAS, or other statistical analysis applications
Novice Instructional technology application and design
Novice Assessment practices and assessment research design
Novice Instructional strategies, learning theories, and instructional design
