DePaul University's department of modern languages seeks candidates for a tenured-track, assistant professor position to begin September 2008.
Candidates must demonstrate a clear commitment to developing Arabic language programs, guiding the development of a new Arabic Studies major, effectiveness in working with community partners and federal agencies that support Arabic language instruction, and advising students preparing to become K-12 teachers of Arabic. Candidates must have the PhD in hand by January, 2008, native or near-native fluency in Arabic and English, documented excellence in teaching, and evidence of an active professional agenda.
