A presentation of works-in-progress.
During the final weeks of the spring quarter, Theatre School playwrights produce a festival featuring their work. These showings range from rehearsed and supported staged readings to unrehearsed table readings. The goal of Wrights of Spring is to afford our playwrights the opportunity to develop their work through collaboration with actors and directors and to test that work in front of an audience.
Wrights of Spring 2001 marks the fifth anniversary of this annual showcase of work by students in the Theatre School's playwriting program. This year's festival will include readings of 25 new works by 21 playwrights. These readings will be produced through the efforts of approximately 100 members of the Theatre School community. All performances, free of charge and open to the public, will be at the Theatre School (2135 N. Kenmore).
