Community Mental Health Center

Services Offered

The multi-disciplinary staff consisting of a psychiatrist, full and part-time psychologists, social workers, counselors, case managers, parent advocates, and graduate level trainees, offer individual, group, family, couple and play therapy, psychiatric assessment, advocacy, and case management through our Outpatient Child & Adolescent Program. Psychological assessment is also available for diagnostic purposes through our Psychological Testing program.  Services specifically targeted for youth involved or at risk of being involved in the Juvenile Justice System are provided through our Bridges and Crossroads programs.  If medication may be helpful, Psychiatric Services  can provide medication evaluation and monitoring. Additionally, PCIT offers a specialized behavior management program designed for young children experiencing behavioral and/or emotional difficulties and their families. Individual adult therapy is not provided at the Center, however, parental support services are available.

In addition to the services offered at the Center itself and the two satellite offices, therapists offer group and individual counseling at schools and other agencies serving children and adolescents in the community.  The Center maintains a Mental Health Clinic at Manierre Elementary School. Individual, family, and group services are provided on site, as well as intakes and psychological testing.  The Center staff is available to meet with any such agency to offer its assistance or to share additional information about our services and programs.  Call Intake (773-325-7780) to make such a request.

Community-based services such as problem assessment, linkage and referral, and psychoeducational programs are also offered through our Urban Systems of Care offices located in the Cabrini Green and Lathrop Homes neighborhoods.   The Urban Systems of Care program is an outreach and support program designed to assist children, adolescents and families who reside in the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) communities of Cabrini-Green and Lathrop Homes.
