Bridges Program


The DePaul CMHC’s Bridges Program mission is to intervene and provide services for youth and families who are involved in the Juvenile Justice System, using a multi-systemic community model of intervention.  Our goal is to prevent future delinquent behaviors and to increase community and family support for the optimal functioning of our youth.

Who qualifies for the Bridges Program?

The primary target of the Bridges Program is youth who have become involved with the Juvenile Justice System.

Bridges participants should be:

  • between the ages of 10 to 17
  • have court involvement and an assigned probation officer, or
  •  have a high number of station adjustments.

Emphasis is placed on providing services in collaboration with all known sources of support and external controls with whom the individual is involved.  This includes the family, Juvenile Court, Probation Officer, Police Department, school, etc.

Family or guardian participation in the Bridges Program is mandatory.

Bridges Program Services include:

  • Comprehensive Assessment
  • Counseling and Psychotherapy (individual and group)
  • Family Therapy
  • Monthly Parent Groups
  • Outreach and Case Management
  • Liaison with Police Departments, Juvenile Court, and Probation Officers
  • School Assessment and Consultation
  • Quarterly Staffings with client, family, therapist and P.O.’s to monitor progress.
  • Psychiatric Services/ Medication Evaluation and Monitoring
  • Bilingual/Bicultural Services
  • Linkage to the following services as needed: 
  • §          Child Welfare
    §          Transition to Adult Services
    §          Medical Health Care
    §          Substance Abuse assessment and treatment
