The
Chaddick Institute encourages students at Chicago-area universities to participate in its
workshops and events. Students at
DePaul University with an interest in urban planning are also eligible for various
Chaddick scholarships and fellowships. Recipients
of these scholarships have gone on to work in such diverse organizations as the American
Planning Association, Chicago Area Transportation Study, General Accounting Office,
McArthur Foundation, and the Chicago Department of Environment.
To
be considered for scholarship funding, students must demonstrate an interest and
commitment to the fields of urban policy, planning, transportation, or environmental
sciences while enrolled as a student at DePaul University.

informal and fun, while offering exposure to a wide variety of experts.
Email Program Manager Joe Kearney,

Getting involved is as
simple as attending one or more Chaddick events. Students are welcome to
participate in our workshops free of charge. You can also call the Institute
at (312)362-5731 and speak to the director and receive an informal tour of
the offices. We will also be pleased to provide you a packet of materials
describing our work and add you to the mailing list.
Applying
for a Scholarships
Strong
consideration is given in awarding Chaddick scholarships to students who contribute to the
life of the Institute. Before applying
for a scholarship, we encourage you to come to one of our events, perhaps a workshop, and
to develop an understanding of our mission.
You
can obtain a scholarship application from the Chaddick office. Students enrolled in the Public
Services Graduate Program can also obtain an application from the Public Services offices
(we use the same application as other Public Services scholarships).
This
year, we also will award the Phyllis M. Sutker Scholarship to a graduate student.
Mrs. Sutker, who died in 2002, was a pioneer
in the world of Chicago trucking and real estate. She
was a longtime member of our advisory board and widely respected by transportation
officials throughout the city. This
$3,000 scholarship is limited to students enrolled in the Public Services
Graduate Program.
