A sociocultural anthropologist with a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.A. in international political economy from the University of California, Berkeley, Professor Nagy has taught at DePaul since 1999. Her research interests include spatial and social complexity in urban environments, transnational labor migration, and Arab-Islamic cities. Her earlier research focused on the post-oil urban planning and development of Doha, Qatar. Her ongoing research examines lives of the large migrant labor population in the Arabian Gulf States. She is the director of DePaul’s Study Abroad Programs and the faculty director of DePaul’s short-term program in Morocco.
