Philanthropy
Alpha Sigma Alpha has two philanthropies, the Special Olympics
and S. June Smith. We in Delta Eta do as much as we can to support
these causes.

Each year, the Special Olympics touches lives in hundreds of communities
across the nation and around the world. Hundreds of Alpha Sigma Alpha members
make a difference to this important organization. The Special Olympics remains
important to our members long after they graduate.
Special Olympics is an international
nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with
intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive
and respected members of society through sports training and
competition. Special Olympics offers children and adults with
intellectual disabilities year-round training and competition
in30 Olympic-type summer and winter sports.
Children and adults with intellectual
disabilities who participate in Special Olympics develop
improved physical fitness and motor skills, greater
self-confidence and a more positive self-image. They grow
mentally, socially and spiritually and, through their
activities, exhibit boundless courage and enthusiasm, enjoy the
rewards of friendship and ultimately discover not only new
abilities and talents but "their voices" as well.

We contribute our time and talent to the S. June Smith Center,
a private non-profit agency providing early identification,
education, training, and therapy to infants and children with
developmental disabilities and delays. The center is located
in Lancaster County, PA.
The S. June Smith Center supports children with developmental needs through education, therapeutic services, and family-centered programming.
They seek to educate children, support families and strengthen communities through our Infant/Toddler and Preschool Programs, as well as Project Together, Community Outreach, SPLASH, Miracles `n Motion, CEEDS, and Tiny Miracles.
Today, the S. June Smith Center continues the legacy of Dr. S. June Smith by creating an inclusive community for every child, regardless of ability.
They work within a child's natural environment to create patterns for lifelong learning that will benefit the child, the family, and their community.
