Lab 13 - HCI 201

These labs are not a race. Work these questions at your own pace. It is better to be complete with each question before moving on. If you don't finish during class, that is okay, finish at home.

Each of you should do your own lab. You will get more out of it. You can get as much help as you like from me or your classmates.

Remember to upload your work to your students account.

  1. For this question you will create a movie, using Windows Movie Maker, using the pictures provided and a simple web page that shows your movie.
  2. Create a subdirectory of hci201 called photos.
  3. Extract the zip file containing the pictures to the photos directory
  4. http://condor.depaul.edu/~alarrain/hci201/photos/photos.zip

  5. Next, open Windows Movie Maker. Spend a few minutes and look over the program.
  6. Make a video out of the photos, play around and enjoy.
  7. Create a simple web page that embeds your movie.
  8. Note: Movie files can be very large, do not use all the photos.
  9. Upload your movie and web page to your students account. Note you are only given about 15MB of storage, make sue your movie is small around 2MB.
  10. Open up Frontpage and look around. Hover the mouse over tool bar items. You notice that many of the items are self explanatory. Write a simple web page using Frontpage. Maybe redo the fivers exercise, add three groups of fivers.
  11. Add a few styles to your web page. Remember to switch to code view and add the styles inside the head tag OR use an external style sheet. It's up to you.
