Faculty Development Grant Opportunities:  Internal Grants Program
Through the Office of Faculty Development & Research, the Provost provides funds to support faculty development initiatives and sponsors awards to recognize outstanding faculty achievements.  Faculty grants, stipends, and leaves are peer reviewed by one of three academic councils.  Council members are appointed by Faculty Council.

URC Competitive Research Grants
Competitive Research Grants provide up to $3,500 to defray expenses associated with research projects or creative endeavors likely to result in some form of scholarly publication or artistic presentation. The program exists to advance faculty tenure and promotion.  Funding the preparation of a completed manuscript according to a publisher's requirements is an
eligible project.

URC Research Conference Grants
The Research Conference Program helps to support research-related conferences hosted by DePaul. Events may center on any academic discipline or research topic of interest to DePaul faculty. The Council will consider requests for subsidies of up to $4,000 per event. Applications should be submitted at least six months before the proposed event.

QIC Competitive Instructional Grants Program
Competitive Instructional Grants provide up to $3,500 in support of curricular or pedagogical innovations designed to enhance the quality of degree-credit instruction at DePaul.  The Council accords highest priority to projects that promise a significant impact on the quality of teaching, including improvements in the assessment of student achievement.

QIC Departmental Initiative Curricular & Pedagogical Grants
Departmental Initiative Grants provide up to $5,000 in support of initiatives designed to strengthen teaching and assessment in degree-credit curricula. These projects will involve aportion of the unit's full-time faculty in significant curricular reform or in pedagogical innovations to improve teaching.

QIC Departmental Initiative Academic Technology Grants
Academic Technology Grants provide up to $7,500 in support of departmental initiatives designed to strengthen teaching and advance faculty research.  Because academic departments exercise primary responsibility for supporting faculty use of technology in teaching and research, this program is designed to help departments fulfill that responsibility by offering a supplementary source of funds to enhance technology support.  A department can receive only one technology initiative in the same year.

QIC Summer Stipends
Summer stipends are intended to foster pedagogical excellence in DePaul's degree-credit curriculum by supporting faculty members' summer work on curricular planning, pedagogical design, or new areas explicitly required by the curricular needs of a department or college.  A maximum of ten summer stipends of  $3,500 (taxable) are available to compensate full-time faculty engaged in intensive curricular endeavors other than teaching.

PSC Service Learning Instructional Grants
Service Learning Instructional Grants are designed to increase the opportunities for DePaul students to incorporate meaningful public service and service learning into their course work. Public service is understood as activities that carry resources from the university into the community. Service learning courses benefit both students and the community. Up to $4,500 will be provided to DePaul faculty and may include a summer stipend.

PSC Departmental Initiative Grants
Departmental Service Learning Grants provide up to $5,000 in support of initiatives that have broad curricular impact and lead to the integration of public service or service learning opportunities into a department or program's curriculum.  Long-term connections between outside organizations and DePaul departments are expected to be developed in collaboration with the Steans Center.
