About the Accounting Club
The DePaul University Accounting Club is an organization in which accounting/business majors can join together to become future assets to the business world. Throughout the school year, members are asked to participate in numerous service activities, social events, networking events, and skills improvement workshops. In addition, every fall, the Accounting Club hosts Firm Visits, where members can visit firms around the Chicago area to learn more about the accounting and business profession (Please view the "Firm Profiles" section of this website for more information on the participating firms).
As discussed above, the Accounting club holds many events for which participation is encouraged and rewarded. For each event that you attend, points will be awarded toward our Scholarship Program. At the Annual Spring Banquet, eight scholarships are awarded to the members who have accumulated the highest number of points throughout the year. Scholarships are awarded to two seniors, three juniors, two sophomores, and one freshman with the highest points for their respective level (this is subject to change based on the contributions of area companies). Sign-in sheets for members are available at all Accounting Club sponsored events, so be sure to sign in for points toward the scholarships. Scholarship points are assigned as follows:
General Meeting Attendance: 6 points
Office Visit/Seminar Attendance: 4 points
Volunteer Event Attendance: 3 points
Social Event Attendance: 2 points
To join the Accounting Club, students must pay a $20 yearly fee, as well as submit an application that can be picked up in the School of Accountancy, or downloaded here. After filling out the form, you can then email it as an attachment to: ac@condor.depaul.edu.
