BY CAB 

  • Tell the driver that you are going very close to the intersection of Kimball and Wrightwood.
  • My house is on Spaulding at the corner of Wrightwood.
  • Spaulding is 1 block east of Kimball.
  • A cab from downtown Chicago should cost about $10.

 

DRIVING

·        FROM THE SOUTH (the city):  I-90/94 West to KIMBALL exit.  At the exit, turn left onto Kimball. 

·        FROM THE NORTH:  I-90/94 East to KIMBALL exit.  At the exit, turn right onto Kimball. 

  1. Continue on Kimball for three lights. The first light is Belmont. The second light is a big intersection (Diversey and Kimball and Milwaukee). The third light is Wrightwood.   You are basically here.  Park now on Kimball or Wrightwood if you like. 
  2. Turn left onto Wrightwood.
  3. Immediately turn left onto Spaulding.  My place is on the left side immediately after the alley.    

 

PARKING OPTIONS:

·        Anywhere on Kimball.  This is your best bet. 

·        On Wrightwood west of Kimball

·        On Milwaukee by the meters (until 2:00 AM)

·        City parking lot (located right behind the McDonalds just off of Milwaukee at the corner of Sawyer).  Costs about $3.00. Sawyer is two blocks east of Kimball.

·        If you find parking on Spaulding, be sure to let me know so I can give you a parking pass.

Public Transport from Northwestern Hospital/Medical School

The trip should take about 40 minutes. It's not far, but involves a transfer.

  1. From NUMS, take the Chicago bus (#66) which you can catch at the intersection of Fairbanks and Chicago (or at Chicago and Michigan). Get off the bus at the Chicago El stop BLUE line (not the red or brown line). (You can ask the driver to let you know when you get there). It should take about 10 minutes.
  2. Take the northbound El (towards O'Hare) for about 5 minutes to LOGAN SQUARE El stop.
  3. Exit at the far end of the station (not the end the El stops at). You'll see what I mean when you get there. Go up the LEFT set of stairs.
  4. You are now on Spaulding. Keep walking until you hit 2616.
