Objectives

Students will identify a monarch butterfly. Students will be able to verbally describe each stage of the butterfly cycle Students will identify on a map where monarch butterflies live. Students will identify the continent monarch butterflies come from.

Assessment

Students will verbally identify the country in North America that monarch butterflies come from. Students will cut and paste images of the butterfly cycle in order. Students will explain to the instructor the stages of the butterfly cycle.

Teacher Students

1. I will provide a k-w-l chart to record previous knowledge about butterflies. I will have the students share their comments to the class what they know about butterflies.

5. Students will make a butterfly mobile. Students will include pictures that depict each stage of the cycle.

1. Students will share their thoughts to the whole group. Students will raise their hands before speaking.

2. Students will attentively listen to the book. Students will ask questions as necessary as I read the book.

3. Students will recall and describe the process of the butterfly cycle. Students will identify what caterpillars eat and butterflies eat. They will compare and contrast caterpillars and butterflies.

4. Students will be able to see the television as I go online and show them various pictures of monarch butterflies. They will be able to see actual pictures of their habitats in Mexico.

5. Students will cut and paste pictures. Students will color butterfly cycle drawings.
Students will identify the stages in numeric order.
