Lesson 4

Duration: 2-3 class periods

 

 

Topic:

Experimenting with the Inventor's Discoveries

 

Objective:  

To create a working model of the concept that the inventor discovered.

 

Procedure: 

  1. Working with groups, students will start to brainstorm about various ways they can illustrate one key discovery made by their inventor.  While some groups may find an obvious experiment, others may have to be creative in their selection.
  2. Students will come up with a written rationalization and illustration of the experiment.
  3. Once discussed with the teacher, group may begin the project.
  4. A written explanation will need to be included with the experiment. The written portion will include a hypothesis, materials, method, and summary.

 

Assessment: 

Students will be graded using the Experiment and Write-Up Rubric
