Topic:

Writing a Biography

 

Objectives:  

 

Procedure: 

  1. After reading an excerpt from the biography of Martin Luther King Jr., the whole class will discuss why biographies are important and worthwhile.
  2. Students will then think about their inventor and discuss what important parts should be included in his/her biography.
  3. Class will conclude that topics such as childhood, family history, and important discoveries should be part of the biography.
  4. Using the resources each group has collected, they will work on writing the biographies.  [Several days will be allotted for students to work in class]
  5. Teacher will circulate and comment on exemplary work (can be used for modeling to the class) or address any concerns.

Assessment: 

The final biography will be graded using the Biography Rubric
