On November 4th 2001, Delta Chapter of Delta Phi Omega Sorority, Inc. was founded by Sheila Lakhani, Ambreen Ali, Sabaa Virani, Shamsha Bhayani, Sapna Shah, Nitu Patel, Tanvi Desai, and Nosheen Hydari.

We sought to have an organization in the Midwest that would continue promoting the advancement of South Asian women and service to the community, thus continuing the legacy of our national founding mothers. With the support of our sisters nationwide, we were able to fulfill this mission.

Delta Chapter was officially recognized by DePaul University and the Multicultural Greek Council on February 28, 2002. This achievement and recognition by DePaul University was a challenging milestone well deserved by the hard work and dedication of all the sisters.

Delta Chapter strives to uphold the pride of Delta Phi Omega through commitment to the five pillars of DPO: honesty, loyalty, respect, friendship and sisterhood. Our goal is to expand DPO within DePaul University through informative and innovative programs and fundraisers we implement. Our mission is to also expand Delta Phi Omega throughout the Midwest and continue being one of the nation's largest South Asian Sororities.
