Class meets 3:30-4:30pm, Fridays Monthly at Byrne Room 403.

Textbook:
Booth, V. (1993). Communicating in Science. Cambridge University Press.

Objective:
The students will learn current research topics in experimental psychology
from presentations on research by students, faculty and invited speakers.

Grade: The student's score will be a weighted average of the scores earned on all course requirements. The requirements and weights are as below. Requirement Attendance Writing Presentation Weight 40% 36% 24%

Attendance is self-explanatory. Writing refers to the Portfolio that is due March 15 and to a term paper due each quarter. The term paper is to be a short research proposal about 5 pages in length. The paper is due the first Monday of the final week of that quarter. Presentation refers to the student presentation in Spring quarter. The length of each presentation is 20 minutes.


Note on Teaching Seminar: Students take 550 during their third year (not second), and may not take it earlier unless they have completed their masters degree.
