Scholarship Information

How does a member earn a Beta Alpha Psi scholarship?

For each event that members attend, they receive points. A professional event is worth 25 points. Social and volunteer events are both worth 15 points. At the end of the year, points are totaled up, and those with the most are given scholarships.

What about for pledges?

Pledges are eligible to earn scholarship points as well. However, they must first complete the basic requirements 3 professional, 1 social, and 1 volunteer event. So, if John Doe goes to 4 professional events, 2 social, and 1 volunteer, he will receive scholarship points for 1 professional and 1 social (25+15=40).

How much are the scholarships? How many are given out?

Scholarships are either in amounts of $1000 or $500 based upon generous firm sponsorships. The amount of scholarships is determined by the number of donations in the current year.

When are scholarships awarded?

They are awarded at the Spring Banquet in late May.
