Details on Becoming an Officer
Elections are typically held a few weeks prior to the Spring Banquet. The
new board is then announced at the banquet. Any current/active member may run
for an officer position with the exception of President. The President must
have held another officer position while in BAP. Incoming officers transition
with outgoing officers before Spring Quarter ends in early-June. This year (2011) our elections will be held
on May 26th, 2011.
The new board will meet several times over the summer to plan the coming
year's events, including Meet the Firms and the Fall banquet. Officers are
also eligible to go to the Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting is a three day
conference where all the BAP chapters from around the world come together.
This is a great opportunity to network, make friends and obtain new ideas for
the coming year. Among numerous activities, officers attend informational
sessions and workshops. Past locations include Hawaii, Orlando, San
Francisco, and New York.
