The Center for Writing has begun using WCOnline for all face-to-face appointment scheduling. WCOnline is a web-based application that allows you to schedule a face-to-face tutoring session online, from any computer. Once you have registered and logged in, you will be able to view a schedule of available appointment times and tutors. You can view, manage, and schedule all of your appointments in WCOnline. Please read the Center's policies before scheduling your first appointment.

Instructions (print this page as a reference for use with WCOnline)

To Register:

1) Click the link above, or go to http://www.rich15.com/depaul/index.php.

2) If this is your first time on WCOnline, click on the link "Click Here to Register."

3) You must fill out all fields on the registration form to continue. Please make sure you enter an email address that you check consistently. Also, please make sure your password is easy to remember.

4) Once all fields on the form have been entered, click on "Register."

5) You are now registered! To schedule an appointment, return to the WCOnline main page and log in.

To Schedule an Appointment

1) Please read the Center's policies before scheduling your appointment.

2) Click on the link above, or go to http://www.rich15.com/depaul/index.php. If this is your first time on WCOnline, you must register (see above).

3) Select a campus (Lincoln Park or Loop) below the log-in box, then log in.

4) Find the day and time that work best for you. By default, you will be taken to the schedule for the current week, and it will show the campus that you selected when logging in. To change campuses, simply use the drop-down box above the schedule. To change the week, use the links below the schedule. The tutors available during a given time slot will have white schedule blocks in the row beside their names.

5) *NEW FEATURE* The new wait-list feature allows students to automatically receive an email notification when an appointment has been cancelled on a given day. So, if you don't see any openings on the day you want to come in, simply click on the wait-list option below that day's schedule and enter your email address. When there is a cancellation, you will be notified. At this point you will need to sign back into WCOnline and make the appointment as usual (following the steps below) -- the wait-list DOES NOT automatically make an appointment for you. To avoid receiving unnecessary emails, please do not add your email address to a particular day's wait list more than once.

6) Need help choosing a tutor? At the top of the scheduling page, there is a link to the profiles of all of our tutors. You may use this information to schedule an appointment with someone of a certain expertise or possessing similar interests.

7) Once you know the day, time, location, and tutor you would like, click on the appropriate white block of time. The New Reservation window will now appear.

8) Now, it's time to tell us a little about yourself. Make sure you fill out all of the fields that are applicable. If you wish to schedule a standing appointment, the box in the upper-right corner of the appointment screen will allow you to do this. IMPORTANT: APPOINTMENTS ARE 30-MINUTES LONG BY DEFAULT. IF YOU WISH TO SCHEDULE AN HOUR-LONG APPOINTMENT, MAKE SURE YOU MODIFY THE START AND END TIMES ACCURATELY.

9) Click "Save" to make your appointment.

Rescheduling or Cancelling Appointments

1) Once the appointment has been saved, you can click on the appointment again (it will be dark blue now). The "Save" and "Cancel" buttons will be replaced by "Modify and "Cancel."

2) If you wish to make changes to the appointment (e.g. assignment information), simply make these changes and then click "Modify."

3) If you wish to cancel the appointment, select the "Delete" box, THEN CLICK MODIFY.

4) You may also cancel/modify appointments through the Control Panel, which is accessible via the link at the top of the scheduling page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q) Why does it say "this page cannot be displayed" when I visit the WCOnline website?

A) WCOnline will occasionally undergo routine maintenance, during which time the page may be down temporarily. This maintenance work is typically conducted during low-volume periods, and lasts a short time. If you receive an error message when visiting the site, please try again soon.

Q) How do I change my password, now that I have registered or been registered by a tutor?

A) To change your password, go to My Control Panel and click on Change My Profile Information/Password.

Q) How can I change an existing appointment from LPC to the Loop?

A) First, cancel your original appointment (see above). Next, go to the online schedule and select your desired campus from the drop-down menu at the top of the page. This will bring up that campus's online scheduler, and you can make your new appointment in the normal way.

Q) How can I set up a standing appointment?

A) When scheduling an appointment, a New Reservation window appears upon selecting an empty time slot. At the top-right corner of this window, there is a drop-down menu that allows you to change the frequency of the appointment you are making. If you would like to set up a weekly standing appointment, change the "Repeat Every" box from "Never" to "Weekly, " and then select the appropriate day of the week from the new options that appear.

Q) Can I still have a walk-in appointment?

A) Yes, you can, but as always we recommend that you schedule an appointment ahead of time to ensure that you are able to meet with someone.
