Part of the mandate for the Center for Writing-based Learning is to assist all DePaul faculty in achieving enhanced outcomes for student learning; this mandate is supported by the assistant director for faculty services, Matthew Pearson. The assistant director for faculty services collaborates with Dr. Lauri Dietz, director of the Center, on the design and delivery of workshops, seminars, and pedagogical materials centered on creating writing assignments, providing feedback to student writers, and developing writing-related assessment projects. Many of these materials are available on this website under Faculty Resources.

The assistant director for faculty services also works with individual faculty members from across the University in one-to-one sessions on writing assignment design, assignment sequencing, and strategies for responding to student writing.
