Political Science Courses:

Core Requirements (5 courses = 20 quarter hours)

FIVE 200-level, four-credit, courses which should include one from EACH of these five subject areas:

  • Political Cultures
  • American Politics
  • Political Thought
  • International Relations
  • Comparative Politics

Political Science Electives (8 courses = 32 quarter hours)

FOUR of these eight PSC electives must be at the 300 level. These courses should include at least three of the following subject areas:

  • Political Cultures
  • American Politics
  • Political Thought
  • International Relations
  • Comparative Politics
  • Public Law
  • Experiential Learning
  • Advanced Study (except PSC 390: Capstone)

NOTE: Only ONE of these eight PSC electives may be a 100-level course. PSC majors may not take 100-level courses during their senior year.

Open Elective Courses (14 courses = 56 quarter hours)

These courses are to be chosen in consultation with the student's departmental advisor. The courses generally are in the fields of economics, history, and sociology. Courses from other areas can be included.
