The Master of Public Health Program is an interdisciplinary program in which students take classes based in a number of departments and programs throughout the University. These include: applied statistics, biology, communication, nursing, psychology, public services, social work, and sociology.
The focus of the MPH program is on Community Health Practice. Classes will be offered during evenings primarily at the Lincoln Park Campus.
This program is designed to meet the needs of individuals who are working in public health or allied health arenas and are seeking to expand their knowledge and training in the field of public health, as well as those who have no prior experience in public health but have a strong interest in the field. It is ideal for working professionals since the courses will be offered in the evening and students can complete the degree in two, three or four years depending on the number of courses students take each quarter.
The program provides a collaborative, applied approach to education focusing on health promotion and disease prevention with individuals, families, communities, and organizations.
The objective of the course of study is to provide students with the professional knowledge and skills they will need to identify and address community health needs. |
