DePaul's Modern Languages Department has received a grant from STARTALK for Summer 2008 to provide forty (40) teachers and prospective teachers of Arabic in Chicago and Chicagoland with teacher training in Methods of Teaching Arabic as a Second Language (20 teachers), and Assessment in the Arabic Language Classroom (20 teachers).

STUDENT PROGRAM
DePaul's Modern Languages Department also received a grant from STARTALK to develop and deliver Arabic Immersion Program to forty (40) students currently attending high schools in Chicago and Chicagoland with limited knowledge of Arabic. Accepted students will be divided into two groups of Beginners and Advanced Beginners according to the level of their Arabic language skills.
