James Shea's first collection of poems, "Star in the Eye," has won the 2008 Fence Modern Poets Series. Judged by poet and memoirist Nick Flynn, the Fence Modern Poets Series prize will include publication of his book by Fence Books in 2008. Evan Willner presented "I Sing the Meat-Bag Inclusive: the Human Body and the American Anti-sublime" in a panel entitled, "The Sublime in the Modern World: Too Much, Too Late, or Too Little?" at the MMLA conference in Cleveland on November 11.
