Jill Dudones will be having an article published in Ms. Magazine. Her piece concerns the politics of female genital mutilation and will appear in the winter issue, on January 17. Jill has also written for Time Out Chicago magazine.

Aaron James Ottinger published his poem "Our Wonderful and Secret Press" this past August in the book American Open Mike, Vol. II. The book features first-time and under-published poets. He also performed as a featured poet at the 2006 Chicago Poetry Festival in Lincoln Square on August 27, reading four of his poems to the audience: "Afghan Trashcan," "A Dune Vision," "Underground the Underground," and "Medusa's Hair." On the first weekend of November, Aaron will be delivering a paper, "Domestic Daemons: Representations of Women in the Writings of Samuel Taylor Coleridge," at the English Graduate Student Conference, "Sexing the Text," at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada.

Shanna T'Koy, a student in the MAW program, has an essay forthcoming in the book Italy from a Backpack, to be published in November. Her piece is entitled "A Part of History."
